ZED PODS Limited has been honoured with The King’s Award for Enterprise: Innovation – recognition of a pioneering build system transforming the UK’s approach to affordable, sustainable housing.

At the heart of this achievement is the ZED PODS Podium Build System, a precision-engineered, volumetric modular solution unlocking land previously written off as undevelopable – flood zones, car parks, and constrained brownfield sites. By elevating factory-built, zero-operational-carbon homes above a raised structural podium, ZED PODS delivered the UK’s first Environment Agency-approved podium-based social housing, proving that flood-resilient, energy-positive homes are both possible and commercially viable.

Every home achieves SAP 100A+ performance and near-Passivhaus airtightness, with rooftop solar generating more energy than residents consume, protecting the country’s most vulnerable households from fuel poverty.

Since 2020, ZED PODS has delivered over 100 zero-carbon social homes across 30 public-sector partners, with revenue growing 382% in three years, proving innovation, social impact and financial resilience can thrive together.
