Formed out of the University of Southampton, Symetrica is a market leading technology company that specialises in providing innovative hardware and software solutions for CBRN threat detection and identification.

Established in 2002, Symetrica has specialist teams and manufacturing facilities located in Southampton and Westford (MA), USA. With a global reach, the company has efficiently deployed over 10,000 systems worldwide.

With more than 22 years of expertise, Symetrica remains steadfast in its commitment to designing and manufacturing best-in-class radiation detection and security systems. Widely recognised as experts in the field, its solutions consistently exceed expectations, effectively detecting and identifying substances in operational settings. Its team of skilled professionals have designed, delivered and supported some of the finest radiation detection systems available. The company has manufactured and deployed over 1,000 handheld Radioisotope Identification Devices (RIDs), along with seamlessly integrating mobile and radiation portal monitors with X-ray systems into large-scale critical infrastructure and port deployments.

More recently, Symetrica has introduced its groundbreaking ‘Discovery’ application, a comprehensive software solution revolutionising operational command and control, service support and asset management for modern and legacy threat detection systems. Enhanced with Machine Learning and AI capabilities, the ‘Discovery’ application provides a robust and innovative toolset, marking a significant advancement in this field.

Symetrica’s global strategy involves engaging with government agencies and academic institutions, in addition to collaborating with national science research centres for co-development initiatives. Overseas sales have grown by over 200% over the three-year application period and the proportion of sales exported has increased to 92% of total sales.
