Winners Of
- 2024 International Trade
Skysmart MRO Ltd, located near London Stansted Airport, is proud to be recognised as a global leader in the maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) of commercial aircraft components, specialising in Boeing and Airbus avionics.
Initially founded to calibrate workshop equipment, Skysmart expanded into aircraft component support in 2010 under the leadership of its Managing Directors Andy Webb and Joe Williams. Co-founder Andy Webb remarks: “Winning this award is both an honour and a privilege. It stands as a testament to the hard work and dedication of our entire team, whose efforts have been instrumental in growing the business and driving our overseas sales.
“Being a supplier of technical services to the aviation industry provides us with access to a global market, but this also presents the challenge of competing on a global scale. Capturing the market share that we have requires continuous innovation and the creation of new ways of working, opening opportunities and new possibilities for our clients.
“Our ability to adapt and innovate has been key to our growth and success in this highly competitive industry, coupled with taking on calculated risks. Financing high tech and specialist equipment has been one of our strategies for success in our competitive global market. Our commitment to quality and customer satisfaction earned us the prestigious 145.com Top Shop Award also in 2024, making us the second company outside the USA to receive this global award.
“Over the past decade, we have experienced remarkable growth, driven by our deep passion for aviation and excellence in engineering. Our primary focus at Skysmart MRO is the repair and overhaul of Airbus flight computers, primary flight displays and flight control units – a task we are privileged to perform under an OEM license.
“We are also well renowned for maintaining the cockpit instruments for the majority of historic warbirds across the UK and Europe, showcasing our expertise and passion for preserving our aviation heritage.
“Winning the King’s Award is an outstanding achievement for us as a small business. It not only enhances the confidence for our current and new customers in what we do, but it also serves as important recognition of our team’s incredible efforts to achieve our success.”
