The Lost Gardens of Heligan is a historic garden, exemplar for restoration and beacon for regenerative practices. In 2024, it became the first garden visitor attraction in the UK to achieve B Corp status.
Lost to the brambles of time following the outbreak of the First World War, Heligan was re-awakened in 1990 to become Europe’s largest garden restoration project. For more than 30 years it has been one of south west England’s most popular and well-loved visitor attractions.
Today, Heligan’s 200 acres are a paradise for explorers, plant lovers, garden romantics and those looking to immerse themselves in a unique slice of living history. Heligan is home to a working farm of heritage livestock and is the only accredited Rare Breeds Survival Trust Farm Park in the south west. The estate is managed to optimise biodiversity and accommodate the reintroduction of wildlife. Heligan has reintroduced beavers, glow worms and water voles and has plans to reintroduce red squirrels.
