Dunphy Combustion, founded in 1964 and based in Rochdale, is the UK’s only remaining family-owned industrial burner manufacturer. It specialises in designing, manufacturing and servicing advanced burners, control systems and packaged plant rooms, exporting to over 60 countries.

It has won this year’s King’s Award for Innovation for its pioneering low-NOx burner, capable of safely burning any blend of hydrogen and natural gas, from 0% to 100%, simultaneously or independently. This technology is novel, and critical for industries aiming to reduce emissions and align with the UK’s net-zero goals, providing practical flexibility during the transition to cleaner fuels.
