Detectronic, a UK-based environmental technology company, has been honoured with the King’s Award for Innovation for its pioneering LIDoTT® Smart Solution – a modular monitoring system that is helping water companies across the UK and beyond to manage wastewater networks more sustainably and effectively.

With over 30 years of experience in flow and level monitoring, Detectronic is dedicated to protecting one of our most vital natural resources: water. Entirely designed and manufactured in the UK, the LIDoTT® Smart Solution combines ultrasonic and radar sensors in a flexible, modular system that delivers accurate, real-time data from within the sewer network. This empowers operators to detect blockages early, predict overflow events, and optimise maintenance – all of which contribute to more sustainable water management.

A key component of the system is the LIDoTT® Sensor M – the only Event Duration Monitor (EDM) on the market to hold MCERTS accreditation. MCERTS is the Environment Agency’s Monitoring Certification Scheme, which ensures that environmental monitoring equipment meets rigorous standards for performance, reliability, and data integrity. This accreditation gives water companies confidence that the data they rely on to meet regulatory requirements is both accurate and trustworthy.
